Day 1 Arrive Lima. Our
representatives meet you at the airport, and we go immediately to
Hotel Las Floras .
2 Bus ride to Huaraz (8-10 hours). Stay at Hotel
El Patio.
3 Market morning, then open-air truck ride to the cordillera El
Negro for hiking/acclimatization.
4 Morning spent preparing food/supplies/marketing.
Afternoon relaxation/or visit the local ruins/or mud baths.
5 Ishinka valley Base Camp Trek (4100m)-today we van ride to Ishinka
Valley trek to base camp with full burro support. This stunning
valley sits directly under Tocllaraju, Urus, Ishinka, and Ranrapalca.
6 Rest/acclimatize/sun bathe (if the sun is out!)
7 To Ishinka High Camp.
8 Summit Ishinka. Snow and ice climbing practice.
Crevasse rescue procedures learned or refreshed. Return to
basecamp better fit, tired, excited.
9 Rest, and pack for high camp.
10 To high camp on Tocllaraju.
11 Attempt the NW Ridge.
12 Return to base camp/or second summit attempt.
13 Return to Huaraz; dinner, celebrations, dancing!/or
return to base camp.
14 Return to Lima/or return to Huaraz.
15 Return to Lima. Goodbye Peru! |
