north carolina climbing tripRock Climbing Instruction and Guiding: Granite Arches offers professional rock climbing trips, guiding and instruction year-round in the mountains of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia at locations such as Looking Glass Rock, Table Rock, Moore's Wall, Linville  Mountain, Tennessee Wall,  and Mount Yonah.  Granite Arches offers private guided instruction only, so you or your group will not be with any other climbers.  Our focus is to help you efficiently reach your climbing goals, while developing superior risk management awareness and technical skill proficiency.  For more information on our climbing courses and guiding, click to go our main rock climbing page.

Ice Climbing Instruction and Guiding: When the temperatures get cold, we move to the north facing features and the great southeastern ice.  We offer courses for the beginner to the experienced ice climber in the mountains of North Carolina and Georgia.  All equipment is provided.  For more information on our climbing courses and guiding, go to our main ice climbing page.

Our Guides:

Swis Stockton is a USMGA/AMGA Certified Rock Instructor, WEMT, Paramedic, ACLS/PEPP/BTLS, and Wilderness Advanced Life Support (WALS) certified.  He completed the Swiss UIAGM High Altitude Guides Rescue Course and has guided in Peru, Ecuador, and US on rock, snow and ice. More.

Drew Dekle has been guiding for 15 years and logued hundreds of guiding days in the southeastern U.S., teaching climbing to numerous camps, groups and individuals.   He is WFR certified through WMA and was trained and finished EMT training in 1995.  He is an avid snow skier. More.

Rod Thomas is an AMGA Certified Rock Instructor and a great addition to Granite Arches.  Rod holds WFR certification through WMA, and yes, ladies, he DOES like long walks on the beach.  Rod guides rock full time now, no longer working winter as a ski instructor in Idaho.  Learn more here.
