Brief
Description: Our expedition
to Ishinka is between 10 and 12 days long. After several
days of acclimatizing, sight-seeing and planning in Huaraz, we leave for
the mountains and base camp. First, we attempt Urus (5400
meters) for acclimatization purposes. After
snow school and relaxing in base camp in the Ishinka Valley for
several days, we move to high camp at 5000 meters. High camp is
located between Ishnika and
Ranrapalca--a stunning alpine cirque from which we stage our
summit bid. We then ascend the sublime slopes of Ishinka (5600
meters).
